The Arlington national cemetery is a beautiful place, full of people who helped not just me, but all of us live wonderful privileged, free lives. I have a little bit of a connection to these people as my father is a veteran, as are many people buried in the cemetery. I feel a significant amount of people overlook the titles and names on the gravestones, just saying “oh it's just another person”, but I notice something else. I notice people who risked their whole lives for our country, resulting in my wanting to show respect. The people buried here have earned a special place in my heart, which I would like to have the chance to show to people. Laying a wreath would be a great opportunity to show that. …show more content…
I would also want to lay a wreath at Washington's tomb.
As we all know, Washington was our first President. He helped shape our nation to how it is today. If he had become a monarch or had declined the offer to be President, our U.S. would be different. He was a great man who frequently aided our country. In other words, he was like the base of a tower. Consequently, if you took him out of the picture, the whole U.S. probably would have come crashing down. Therefore, I would love to have a chance to acknowledge him by laying a wreath on his tomb. He deserves all of us to honor him, as he was a man of great dignity, therefore we should try to preserve that. If I had a chance to lay the wreath at his tomb, I wouldn't only have the chance to honor him, but also his wife who helped him along the
way.
Not only would I like to do this for honoring people, I believe that it would be a wondrous opportunity for myself as a student. I would have the chance to do a once in a lifetime, giving me the chance to represent all the Lakeshore Middle School. This would a chance to do something that I would never forget, which would be an amazing moment for me. Though there are many reasons why I would like to lay a wreath, not just the ones that I talked about. This is an amazing opportunity that few people have, and I hope I’m given a chance to be one of those people. It wouldn't only shape me as a student, but also a person.
