Arlington Street Boys Monologue
I was just walking down Arlington Street with my boys, if you don’t know us we are also called the Arlington Street boys. Until we saw these boys coming off the bus, and I could just tell they were looking for trouble. They were walking with their hands in their pockets and had a mischievous look on their faces. We got into our cars and yelled at them, asking them why they were in this part of town. They yelled at us back and said they were looking for trouble. That made me and my buddies mad. No one comes to our street without coming through us. Me and my boys jumped out of the car and started running at them. At least ten of my boys came with me to beat those guys up! I was running so fast that a bug flew in my face, but I didn’t flinch because I did not want to …show more content…
Then I fell on the ground almost knocking another tooth out of my mouth! I lose at least one tooth every time I get into a fight. Now since I barely have any teeth I can’t get any, which makes me sad. I am not giving up though, I got up and started chasing them. Just then I heard a hissing sound, it was a bus. I couldn’t really tell at first because getting punched left my sight very blurry. What I could see was those boys hopping onto the bus. I helped my boys up and we jumped into the car. We started chasing the bus, I was so angry I felt like I could kill someone! Luckily there were no cops around because if there were, we would be getting a ticket for speeding 20 mph over the limit. Even though my face really hurt, I was getting excited because the bus was starting to pull over to the next stop! Once it came to a stop, me and my boys hopped out of the cars and sprinted to the bus doors. I got on the bus first and pulled out a fifty dollar bill for the bus driver. I told him that it was for me and my fifteen buddies, but the bus driver didn’t have any change for my fifty dollars!? What kind of bus driver would not want fifty dollars? I didn’t

In the book Paul Street Boys one of the main characters, Nemecsek, who is a member of the Paul Street gang, could definitely be considered a Christ-figure, despite his status as an underdog. A Christ figure is a literary device, a particular way of shaping an important character in a novel. He (or she) may not match in every instance to the biblical image of Jesus, but bears enough of the characteristics to suggest the relationship. They go through suffering and in the end sacrifice themselves for…

I have been ten for a month now. I’m going to be left home alone for the first time. Mom told me this morning, “Zeb, I have to take the Whittiker girl her medicine. It’s a two day ride. Will you be alright on your own?” I sat at the breakfast table, stirring the grits around on my plate, unreplying. “You can catch your own dinner” she offers, knowing that will entice me. I love to fish and fish. “I guess” I say, my voice trembling a bit. There are too many things that could happen, but I can’t make…

Blood slides along my body, beneath my clothes and down to the floor. It's warm, somehow it feels kind of nice. But it shouldn't, surely this is the end of me, surely I'm dying. But I'm standing, I'm still standing. My legs beg me to give in, to let go and drop to the soft grass below, but I'm still standing. I can't take this anymore, somebody find me already, please! Aah, this is driving me insane. I can't.. Somebody.. I don't want to die, please help. I can't do this on my own, I'm to weak, I'm…

It is the hour to be drunken! to escape being the martyred slaves of time, being ceaselessly drunk.on war, on poetry, on virtue as you wish. reads Roy. Midnight approaches, and while the peak of activity has passed, the city whine’s; a soporific noise neither rises nor falls but is pregnant with trepidation. Inside a room, its dark and unnoticeable; but adequate light fills the room as we adjust to the darkness. White wall depict a picture frame like window, in that black and luminous square; life…

I don't know to what extent it had been there, remaining there, before me, or on the off chance that I had been there previously. I saw one evening to turn upward from my daily paper, behind the blind that serves as the window dress before my most loved seat. It was an unusual shadow, an outline simply drawn. I felt no trepidation, interest, on the grounds that I thought it would be a fantasy of my eyes estranged by the columns of letters like ants wandered the whitish leaves day by day. I flickered…

“Hi, my car broke down about a mile and a half down the road, can you help me out?” I asked. “Let’s take a ride down there and check it out,” said the mechanic. We drove to my car and the mechanic looked it over, He said, “It may take a few hours to repair.” and recommended I find somewhere to eat. He pointed me back to town and said, “Good luck.” That’s when I found Moe’s Café. “Mom, I kid you not this place looks like a crime scene.” I said on the phone. “Honey, I’m sure it’s fine,” she said.…
