The House of Ovidius had a nice headquarters, but the House of Priscus’ blew it out of the water. Arminius admired it from afar and made note of what he needed to surpass to have the most impressive castle of them all.
Other than the House of Priscus’ headquarters, the buildings in Priscus City were rivaling what Arminius knew from his old world. They had stone and wood walls, painted siding, and glass windows. Slightly less impressive, the city had solid stone roads and a steady amount of wagon traffic across them.
When he reached the city, Arminius landed on the side of the road and walked further inside. There were no sidewalks, and pedestrians walked wherever they wanted to. This made wagon drivers aggravated, and they continuously had to yell at pedestrians to get out of the way. The wagons were pulled by magic, not horses or some other animal, and the streets were relatively clean. He did, and thus he never aged. They, however, ate, drank and slept. Arminius saw many magicians eating at stalls and restaurants on the side of the road, and he wondered how old the high ranking magicians he had seen in his new world really were.
In his old world, magicians didn’t pay any heed to how old a magician was. That magician either had power or didn’t. Sometimes, a magician that looked in their late twenties was really several hundred years old. In his new world, however, knowing how old a magician was might come in handy. If he entered a battle and he only knew the age of his opponent, he would be able to determine their arcane core’s maximum rank. The magicians in his old world were simply too mysterious to have recorded something like their year of birth.
Arminius walked for several minutes, then felt a trace of Simon and Julie’s rank 2 arcane cores. They were both together, and they were using magic. Arminius quickened his pace, and they entered his eyesight in only a few more
