This article about the constructivism theory described the contrast between the social constructivism and the cognitive constructivism. As stated in the article many psychologists believe children learn from their experience and the environment. The article talks about that as well as learning through prior knowledge of their experiences. Children connect knowledge through their experience. The article discusses many people that are in children’s live that can impact their learning. Not just parents, but administrators, teachers, peers, etc. These people mentioned can directly affect children. Not only the discussion about who impacts children’s learning was discussed but also what affects children’s learning. For example, textbooks, displays, etc. The article was great for me to read. It helped me understand more clearly how many people and how many things have an impact on children’s learning. One of the article strengths to also mention is how the article went in full detail about the different types of constructivism, for example, social and cognitive constructivism. The article touched on the psychologist theories of constructivism and how they have differences. It was encouraging because even psychologist do not see eye to eye. Teachers are the same way especially with their students. While the article touched about the learning theory of constructivism, I didn’t feel like I fully understood the difference between the two theories. There was a lot of information in the article that made me feel a little overwhelmed. Out of this article I mainly got a lot of knowledge about different psychologist and their beliefs, as well as information on the different ways children learnings. The article and text book did have some similarities. Each touched
