    Theodore Roosevelt Report

To many, Theodore Roosevelt is just one of the 44 presidents staring blankly out of a U.S. History textbook page, but he, along with three other noteworthy presidents, is immortalized in stone on Mt. Rushmore for a reason. His remarkable life story began even before his presidency: he “rose like a rocket” in his political position through introducing modern technology and reforms to the police system, and gained glory as a volunteer in the Rough Riders during their victory at San Juan Hill in Cuba. On September 14, 1901, Roosevelt succeeded President William McKinley and became the youngest to ever become president. He was the first to perform an assortment of other feats, such as riding an airplane and submarine, winning the Nobel Peace Prize, and most importantly, becoming the first modern president. He referred to the White House as a “bully pulpit” (a position sufficiently conspicuous to provide an opportunity to speak out and be listened to), while regulating monopolies--from which he gained the title of “trust buster”--and enforcing a program of domestic reforms that he coined “the square deal.” His beliefs were based on the “stewardship theory of presidency,” which directs the president “to do anything that the needs of the Nation demanded unless such action was forbidden by the Constitution or by the laws.” Unlike his predecessors, Roosevelt did not remain in the comfort of the White House, but instead traveled to other countries for campaigns, becoming the first president to leave the United States. His destinations included Africa, where he sought artifacts for the Smithsonian, hunting, and writing inspiration; and Panama, where he undertook the construction of the Panama Canal--the “greatest achievement of [his] presidency.” However, after a narrow escape from an assassination attempt during his Bull Moose campaign, Roosevelt retreated to his home in Sagamore Hill, where he stayed for 34 years until his death in 1919, due to cardiovascular disease.…

The axles ran through the width of the vehicle, and the wheels connected to the axle on either side of the vehicle. Each wheel and axle was placed at different ends of the machine, however the vehicle has a short wheel base, since the vehicle is small. Each wheel had a tire for traction and smooth driving, and the vehicle moved one the wheels.…

The first report I found from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-20084254 was for Winterbourne View care home for people with disabilities the report says eleven care workers male and female were involved. One victim was showered fully clothed and had mouth wash poured into her eyes , while another was asked if they wanted their face grated with a cheese grater , the abuse got so much for one patient that he tried jumping out of his window from the second floor to then be mocked by the care workers, this all came to light by BBC One Panorama doing undercover recordings it was told to CQC that ignored the complaint. After the recordings were shown on BBC one the eleven care workers admitted to 38 different charges of abuse and neglect, six were jailed between six months to two years while the other five were on suspended sentences, the CQC said it was misjudgement that the concerns had not been investigated.…

Concerns about the ineffectiveness of traditional criminal justice systems have perpetrated new approaches to criminal justice. Such new approaches to transitional justice or restorative justice like truth commission, trails, reparation, and lustration or vetting. But the apprehension of restorative justice and retributive justice bring to light the argument and made clear that each is not as impeccable or a straightforward answer to justice for all legitimate victims. From 1945 to 2003 we have seen many different types of tribunals put together to handle criminal transgressors. Therefore, in exploring human’s interconnection, humanity’s overreaction to emotion and the method of justices will illustrate why restoration justice is as futile as traditional restitution justice.…

In many instances, living in a country does not mean one is living that country’s lifestyle. Throughout The White Tiger, the Stork and the Mongoose repeatedly remind Mr. Ashok that “This is not America” (Adiga 61). They do so because Mr. Ashok is constantly bringing up American habits and culture, which is the upbringing that Pinky Madam has. Even though Pinky Madam lives in India with Mr. Ashok, she never lives an “Indian” lifestyle; instead, she lives an American lifestyle in India protected by the wealth of Mr. Ashok and by the knowledge of her return to America.…
