Asian Pacific Space Research Paper

“Asian Pacific Space” is a place and community where a specific Asian Pacific ethnic group of people live, build many substructures, and run business. These elements create the unique characteristics which reflect the culture of the specific Asia Pacific ethnic group. I admire the lifestyle of Japanese people and like their foods like sushi or ramen. For these reasons, I decide to choose Little Tokyo to visit. I asked Tri Tran and Tram Do to drive to Little Tokyo to discover the Japanese American space. The visit satisfied my expectations in exploring about Japanese’s culinary tradition, religion, and cultural activities. I visited three places at Little Tokyo. Japanese American National Museum is the first place that I visited to explore about
the history and cultural of Japanese American community. Then, I went to Japanese American Cultural and Community Center to explore about the cultural activities of Japanese American community. The center has many information about the cultural activities and events in spring 2017. Additionally, the center have organized many Japanese language classes. I also visited Higashi Honganji Buddist Temple. At the temple, I was very impressed by the architecture, decoration, and presentation of the main hall of the temple. Lastly, I visited was Japanese Village Plaza where Japanese American people run many restaurants and gift shops to sell a various kinds of delicious foods and gifts to visitors. I had a chance to enjoy the delicious sushi and ramen. I also observed that most of visitors are from Asian communities. Generally, through the field trip, I get more understanding about the Japanese American community.
