By placing responsibility for product profitability at the division level, management are able to react and make decisions quickly on a day to day basis.
As the company is now divisionalised, each division can operate as a separate, self-sufficient unit without having to rely heavily on top management of the organisation. Having a separate management structure allows decisions to be made quickly and allows specialisation of each division. HTL Training Services (as well as each other divisions) also have their own equipment, supplies and resources, which allows for a more autonomous method of operation.
Some functions such as Finance, Human Resources and Purchasing are provided centrally. This can be advantageous (especially to the new Training Division) in the initial stages of the division, However, the cost of the centralised function is recharged to each division using each function.
