Introduction
This report will be setting out the importance of the HR function, how the HR department supports CTI’s company strategy and the support HR provides to CTI’s employee’s and line managers on a daily basis.
The main purpose of the HR department is to support CTI’s company strategy. CTI’s company strategy is a combination of policies, process and procedures according to its mission statement. The below will outline why HR play a big part in supporting CTI’s strategy to the whole organisation.
Three HR activities that support CTI’s company strategy
1. Recruitment and Selection
‘Recruitment is the process of having the right person, in the right place, at the right time’ (CIPD website 2014; Recruitment & Selection) Sourcing the right candidate is crucial for the operational running of CTI and wouldn’t be successful without the integrate parts HR play.
The HR department at CTI recognises that our staff our are greatest asset and the right recruitment process is vital, in ensuring new employees become as effective in the shortest time (ACAS 2010 Recruitment and induction)
CTI’s goal for 2015 is to spend £6m on people resources to support the additional sales they plan to win; this goal is part of CTI’s overall company strategy. HR performs a number of activities during the recruitment and selection process, to ensure the right person is picked for the particular job role required.
The HR function at CTI prides itself on three areas during the recruitment process.
The first being efficient- we ensure the recruitment sources we use our as cost effective as possible for the role we are recruiting for, without sacrificing the quality of candidates. Since the start of the HR
