Asymmetrical Analysis Of The Sharks At The Storm
The composition of the painting is slightly asymmetrical with some dynamic elements. The painting is asymmetrical because the left side is heavier than the right side due to more darker elements on the left such as the dark shades of the water and the terrifying sharks. Also, the boat is slightly tilted towards the left near the sharks, however; the painting tries to be balanced with the dark-skinned man looking towards the right and with the storm in the far right corner. The work is also dynamic because the man’s face is looking towards the right making the observer look to the right as well and spot the flying fish and then go up to see the storm. The man’s legs lead the viewer to the sugarcane and then to the sharks that are overlapping
