have short careers. Next, I understand how some people think athletes are overpaid . But athletes have short careers so they have to make a lot. According to Mackenzie Carro “Athletes need salaries that will carry them past the five to fifteen years they are able to play.” This shows that athletes need a lot of money because they have short careers. Finally, athletes have chronic health problems. According to Mackenzie Carro “In fact, many retired athletes have chronic health problems because of the strain they put on their bodies.” This is one of the sacrifices that athletes make to earn the amount of money that do. Also according to Mackenzie Carro “ And while this may seem glamorous, think about this: Like gladiators charging into the arena, athletes face injuries that can be not only career ending but also life altering.” This is another piece of evidence that shows athletes have chronic health problems.
Athletes dedicate their lives to their sport, have short careers, and have chronic health problems. These are the reasons why I think athletes are not overpaid. If you thought athletes were overpaid, what do you think now?
