Athletes Should Not be paid
Student Athletes should not be paid to play sports for colleges. If college athletes were paid to play sports it would take away from pros getting paid to play. Pro Athletes also would not think it is fair because when they were in college they didn't get paid and they were good enough to go pro so they should have gotten paid before anybody. If college athletes were paid it would take away from being at school to study. College should be a place to study first and then play sports. If all of the focus for athletes was to make money to pay off school and live off of they wouldn't do as good in school because they would always be focused on the sport and would never have time to study.

These athletes who are being paid to play sports are going to be needing tutors more and more often which also costs more money for the school. If the school is willing to pay student athletes but not better the education circumstances what is college education really becoming? If the education is becoming the second priority in college more and more students are going to take advantage of it. Although it would make kids work harder in the sport they are in we should also enolase the fact that it shouldn't be the most important thing in a student athlete's life.
After doing research and analyzing others opinions, I still believe that student athletes should not be paid on top of getting scholarships from schools. The idea of it may sound great but the negative impacts it brings is not worth it, therefore being a student athlete and getting scholarships should be a big enough incentive to work hard and educate yourself to get a better and high paying job than others.
