the school and get no credit, and paying the athletes would convince the really good players to stay at the school and not go on to a professional sport early.
The first reason why college players sports players should get paid is because paying sports players is like having a job. For starters, the average college sports player spends 43.3 hours a week devoted to their sport. That is 3.3 more hours than the average american worker. I also know that when you play a college sport, you have to kinda show off for the coaches/do good at practice so you can actually play in games. Second, you have to miss classes and finals and stuff like that just to play in tournaments, away games, and mandatory during school practices. On forbes.com, a baseball team had to miss the entire section of spring classes just to be in the college world series. Do you know HOW MUCH WORK they probably had to make up just to get a good grade in that class.A last thing that I think why college players should get paid is because sometimes students are shown on national TV and they don’t get paid for commercials that get money. My main thing about the whole games and players on commercials and TV is that they need some credit and they should get paid for nationally televised programs. Now I know what all the people that disagree with this essay might say that the players arejust devoted to their sport, but in my opinion it's not worth it to miss a whole season of classes, and then maybe end up winning millions for your school because you won the national college championship. To conclude, college players should get paid because playing a college sport is like having a job.
To continue, college players made millions and millions of dollars for their university, but don’t get any of the credit money-wise.
This is not a cool thing to do. This is like if you did all the work for someone on a test, but instead of you getting the A, the other person gets the A. See, your probably thinking that is it not fair because it isn’t. An example is of the college football national championship bowl game. The players are the ones that get the winning record and stuff, but by just making it to the bowl game, the school makes on average 7.4 million dollars. That’s not even if you win either. Even the coaches get an average of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars along with their paycheck by just making it to a college sport championship. I mean it wouldn’t hurt to pay the players something like two thousand dollars. On a football team there are about sixty players so that's one hundred twenty thousand dollars. Compared to seven million that's nothing. Sure people might say things like:If you pay college player, they might spend their money on dumb things like liquor and maybe drugs. If you are thinking something like, I assure you that will not happen. I remember my Dad saying that there are no idiots in college. If you do something like that, and they test you for drugs and the test is positive, then you could get suspended or maybe kicked off of the team. This is why you could at least give players a small portion of the school's earnings.
Finally, the last
and final reason why I think that college players should get paid is because paying the players would convince the players to stay at the univeristy/college to stay at the school and keep them away from the tempting wonder of pro sports. College players should get paid so they can stay at the school. The pro sports aren’t going anywhere and staying in college would improve their
