Athletes see rising social media demands
The Sports Business Journal I reviewed is titled "Athletes see rising social media demands" by Tripp Mickle. The way contracts are being written now has social media requirements now in the contract. This means the athlete will now have to promote their endorsement a number of times on twitter and facebook. “There is an enormous growth in the contracts in social media content, demands and obligations,” said Patrick Quinn, who represents Pikus-Pace and oversees Chicago Sports & Entertainment Partners. “Not long ago, having an athlete blog a little or post a little was in some contracts and not in others. Now it’s in every contract, and in some of them it’s ridiculously complex.” Social media has become a huge player for sports and the media. When a athlete talks to a fan on social media, the fan feels connected with the athlete. From my own experience, some of my friends were very excited that a certain athlete was "following" them on twitter and I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Advertising is a very strong message that the media has been using for decades. Now with the use of different platforms with internet access anywhere in the world, the media wants the athletes to promote its brand on twitter and facebook which makes sense. The media is using social media as its tool to advertise its products and services. If the advertisers know that fans are "following" their favorite athlete, they are going to promote that athlete with their product. bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb- bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb- bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb- bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb- bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb-

I have always set my goals in my mind only, focusing on the main goal, never considering smaller goals. Since I have become a student at GCU, this class has taught me a lot about motivation and goal setting, and how these skills work together. I like the smart goal chart, it has shed a lot of light on the task of goal setting. The chart allows me to see all goals in front of me on paper, and with the proper outline it helps me focus on one step at a time in acheiving my goals. I like the idea of setting smaller goals, and then rewarding myself as I accomplish each step on my way to accomplishing the main goal. I have learned when I take on smaller goals, and reward myself along the way, it motivates me to press on toward the main goal. I will…
