Some wealthy parents may contribute largely to the school in return for individual attention and treatment for their child. So even though a student might be failing, the need for any harsh punishment may become less so as to not void any aids that may be given to the school. On the flip side, this may cause chaos in the school with those who were not allowed to partake in the sports because of failing, and still have other students that are failing to partake in the sports or the students that are the star of the team. For example, they have always been the champions of basketball because of the star players, so if the students are not doing well they would still allow the students to play because they have a reputation to upkeep as the champions and pay less attention to the education of the students or their future. Lastly, the influence from other student athletes may pose a dire threat to another athlete as he may think the other team members don’t care about their school. He will want to try to fit in with the other team members as a result of peer pressure. For example, if this student athlete is doing great in school meaning he/she is an honor roll student. If the other students isn’t smart like him/her they will try to influence him/her to do bad in school especially in his/her grades because if he doesn’t do it, the team members will make fun of him/her, tease him/her or even bully
