Maladaptive behaviors are seen as the behaviors generally observed in childhood and adolescence (Butcher, Hooley, & Mineka, 2014). Much of the symptoms must be analyze to be able to diagnose a patient adequately since behaviors questioned have to be appropriate to the Childs’ age (Butcher, Hooley, & Mineka, 2014). This disorder has 3 Criterions. Criterion A depicts general mental deficits (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Criterion B displaces everyday adaptive deficit however, to individual’s age, gender or sociocultural (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Lastly Criterion C the onset of such symptoms are portrait during the developmental period (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Androschuk, Al-Jabri, & Bolduc (2015) states such disability was known as mental retardation. Phil displays some criterion A of intellectual disabilities in his inability to problem solve or think abstractly. He does not have the perceptual reasoning behind his work. He is unable to take charge of others and relies only on repetition of his specific task without flexibility. He focus on only one task and perfectioning it without incorporating other factors that contribute or relate to the task. However, he does not fit the criterion for all B factors. He does fit the lack of social domain (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). He is unable to self-manage himself, his family or work. He does not seem to demonstrate lack of conceptual domain. He seems to be capable of retaining a position. The only problem occurs when he is placed to overlook at a bigger idea or
