This explains that the critic felt like the only reason that the movie was as good as it was is because Joss Whedon is an extraordinary director and made the movie better than it would have been with someone else directing. Another critic agrees, stating “writer-director Joss Whedon avoids the fatal trap of comic-book self-seriousness, leavening a baggy, busy, overpopulated story with zippy one-liners, quippy asides and an overarching tone of jaunty good fun” (Hornaday par 2). This shows that Whedon saved the movie from being a typical comic-book movie he makes it different and sets it apart from most comic-book movies. Critics had some very positive things to say about it from they saw. They agree that the director Joss Whedon did a phenomenal job of directing it and getting the story line done because without him they think the movie would have crashed and burned. The critics also really enjoyed the plot they put together it wasn’t all action it had more of a mix genre to help make it more intriguing to a broader audience. They did seem to have a negative reaction towards the special effects though they didn’t enjoy how they were the same special effects that everybody else uses. All in all the critics had very positive reviews with a little negativity but overall they agreed the movie is worth the watch. Don’t think twice about watching it, you won’t regret
