INTRODUCTION

The English language has its origins in about the fifth century A.D., when tribes from the continent, the Jutes, the Saxons, and then the larger tribe of Angles invaded the small island we now call England (from Angle-land). Old English, the language of the Anglo-Saxons, is preserved in Beowulf (c. A.D. 800). Middle English developed following the Norman invasion of 1066, exemplified in Geoffrey Chaucer 's Canterbury Tales (c. 1400). Modern English, dating from the sixteenth century, is exemplified in the plays of William Shakespeare (1564–1616). From the time the Pilgrims landed in America (1620), the language began to take its own course in this "New World." Expressions like "fixing to," which had never been used in England, were "cropping up" (an expression going back to Middle English) in the colonial press by 1716.(Gale encyclopedia by U.S) Nowadays some students have no background about the history of the English language, some students have the knowledge about it but there is a tendency that they forget it. There is a time that the English teachers didn’t include the history of the English language because the students show no interest about it.

The question now, does the students nowadays are ware about the history of the English language and what are the problems that they encountered in studying the history of the English language.

This study wants to describe the awareness of the students about the history of the English language towards improvement and to a meaningful learning.

Many perceive The Lion King, Disney's most successful movie to date, as Disney's only original movie; the only movie not previously a fairy tale from one country or another. This, however, is not the case. While The Lion King seems not to be biased on a fairy tale, it is in fact strongly based on the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Disney writers cleverly conceal the basic character archetypes and simplified storyline in a children's tale of cute lions in Africa. To the seasoned reader, however, Hamlet comes screaming out of the screenplay as obviously as Hamlet performed onstage.…

English is one of the most important languages in the world. It can even be regarded as the single most important language. Though other languages are important too, they are not the same as the English language is. English is important because it is probably the only language that truly links the whole world together. If not for English, the whole world may not be as united as it is today. The other languages may be important for their local values and culture.Considering the actual number of individuals using English as their first language, it is principally the official language of the world.…
