It is not an easy decision to make when you have a new baby and want to have a carrier that is perfect for them. The truth is, perfection is negotiable for each parent and each baby. Just because one is ideal for one person, does not mean that every parent will love that baby carrier. In many ways, this complicates life for everyone. There are so many features to consider and of course, you want comfort for both yourself and your baby. When you take a look at both the Baby Bjorn and the Ergo, two of the most popular carriers available, you will notice a variety of similarities and differences. Which one will you prefer or will you choose to go with something else?

This is because, as every new parent knows, babies are expensive. They need a lot of things to make their life, and yours, as comfortable as possible. Both of these carriers are more expensive than other types. However, most carriers are not able to be used from newborn and up to toddler aged children. The Baby Bjorn is the cheaper of the two by around $35. For parents who are on a tight budget, this could make all the difference in which baby carrier option they decide to go with. For other parents, the fact that the Ergo is more expensive will be worth it since it is lighter by a few ounces. The one you choose may simply be based on the overall style. Both are guaranteed to be comfortable, but if possible, you may want to try them on before you buy, especially since they are both

The main character of the commercial is “The E*Trade Baby,” but there’s a catch, the baby speaks with a mature older man’s voice. This adds a sense of weirdness to the commercial right off the bat. One may question the validity of a company whose commercials star a talking baby, but this is a clever marketing approach because if people see a talking baby, something they don’t see every day, they will immediately become engaged in the commercial. E*Trade uses a baby as a symbol for inexperience, simplicity and an older man’s voice for knowledge. E*Trade wants to show the audience that if a baby can you use the program, so can the audience. They also want to show knowledge, that E*Trade is a reliable and trusted company, so they use the voice of an older man to portray legitimacy. E*Trade wants to declare that “Yes, this is a legit company and yes, we’re simple to use,” so a talking baby fits in perfectly to…

On one hand Huggies are thicker and it may seem that they are a lot cheaper but if you do the math; They are the same in price per diaper. "Consumer Reports estimates parents will spend between $1,500 and $2,000 on disposable diapers before their child is potty trained" (www.bloggingstocks.com Battle of the Brands: Pampers vs. Huggies). In a advertisement by Huggies they have placed a huge Huggies diaper on a water tower ( Parents. Raise a self-reliant child March 2010 pg.91). By doing this, they are stressing their "leak lock technology" that Huggies diapers have over other brands. This portrays a serious issue to parents; No parent wants to have diapers that may leak, this is a great feature. In a Pampers advertisement they are expressing the use of their product when mother and child are still in the hospital after the child was born. They also stress the fact that the swaddler diaper for newborns are "the number one choice of hospitals" ( Parents. Help your child sleep better February 2010 pg.9). The reasoning behind this advertisement is the u-shaped top of these particular diapers make sure that the area where the umbilical cord was removed is not irritated by the diaper. Just wear the carrier on your body, kind of like a backpack. Kneel down so your child can climb up. Make sure they are stepping onto the bag correctly. Then put their arms on the shoulder-strap. Put the small bag in front of you and strap it around your body as well before connecting it to the carrier. After that, you’re all good to go!…

As simple as it may seem, the decision to breastfeed versus formula feed babies can be difficult and one of the most important decisions a mother can make. While there is nothing wrong with giving babies formula milk, breastfeeding should be the number one choice for mothers. Co-Sleeping the Right Way

    • 2588 Words

Expecting parents are faced with an abundance of decisions that must be made both in preparation for, and after, a new baby’s birth; most tend to focus on how they would like to decorate the nursery, whether they want to know the sex of the baby, and what his or her name will be; along with many other things. One very important decision that most new parents over look is what the new sleeping arrangement will be. The Birthing Site author Amanda Schewaga argues that “co-sleeping has received a bad reputation in the western world due to poor practices that have resulted in infants being smothered by bedding or crushed by parents”. Due to this reputation, there is not enough information provided to parents who would like to co-sleep, or for those who simply find that it is easier for them once they have brought their baby home. Parents must conduct their own research and make a decision off of their own personal findings; some new parents never put very much thought into it, before making the choice to bring their child to bed. I strongly believe that every parent should be aware of the facts in order to make a realistic and safe decision; knowing the specifics of safe co-sleeping, as well as the hazards and risks involved, could either sway a parent away from the idea or at the very least help them to do it in the safest possible way. ”The evidence against co-sleeping is confused and conditional and there is also evidence in its favor. So, with due care, individuals are surely entitled to make up their own minds” (Leach 183). Many of those who do not research this subject make this very important decision impulsively, when they are lacking sleep, and tired of waking up to tend to their little one on numerous occasions throughout the night. In my own experience, as well as with observations I have made of fellow moms and dads that I’ve known throughout my adult life, a lot of people think the safety of the situation is common sense; this…
