He is always making momentous decisions that lead the play to horrible outcomes. From deciding falling in love with a girl at a Capulet party, to deciding to kill Tybalt, and even to killing himself hastily at the sight of Juliet’s dead body. This can be clearly witnessed in what Romeo says right before going after Tybalt “Away to heaven, respective lenity, and fire-eyed fury be my conduct now!” (III.1.118-119). This quote is relevant as earlier in the scene, Romeo had refused to fight with Tybalt as he had recently secretly married Juliet, Tybalt’s cousin. He wanted to behave without hostility towards his in-law, yet he changed his attitude as soon as he saw the slain Mercutio.
