Firstly, Kino was about to hurt the attacker that came to Kino's house. The attacker threatened and challenged him. “His right hand went it his shirt and felt his knife”. (P55 Chapter 4 Steinbeck). He didn’t hurt the attacker, but he still attempted to kill the attacker. Next, Kino stabbed the first tracker then he stole his rifle and shot the last two trackers.“The great knife swung and crunched hollowly it bit through the neck and deep into the chest”. “He grasped the rifle even as he wrenched free his knife''.(Chapter 6, P86, Steinbeck). He killed the three trackers to prevent them to steal the pearl. Kino was a good role model in the beginning but after he attempted to sell the pearl.
