The most recent mass murder in Las Vegas was different. Stephen Paddock was the man behind the gun in Las Vegas. He was extremely effective in carrying out his attack. He was able to kill 59 people and wound 527 others in as few as eleven minutes and at a distance of 1,360 feet away from the concert. What was the difference and what made his mission so successful? Paddock’s use of bump stocks played a huge role in helping him carry out his massacre. Bump stocks greatly decrease the accuracy of shooting and allow for multiple targets in a short time span. This is a prime example of why bump stocks must be ruled illegal and unconstitutional.
One can go as far as limited restrictions saying they could be on some weapons or one can go as far as to say they are banned altogether so that no one can purchase them legally. Massachusetts was the first state in the United States to ban bump stocks on any type of weapon.
Some people say that guns are responsible for terrible acts such as mass shootings and killing people. However, it is not the gun that is killing people. It is the person behind the gun pulling the trigger that is responsible. Gun control laws will not stop
