‘’If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”School Principals banned dodgeball recently from Elkton Maryland because it was inappropriate and not aligned to the curriculum. They removed it from the Physical Education curriculum. My opinion is I would ban dodgeball if I was a Principal or a Super Indentant.I just think the game is people playing as wild bancheys.
I would ban dodgeball because it might not be the best game for the special needs kids such as, severe autism and down syndrome. In the text it states”. It's an elimination game’’ said Andrew Mead from the program manager at NASPE. They don’t include slower students that can’t catch well. The target would mostly be on them and they can’t deal with elimination.
My second reason to ban dodgeball is it doesn't teach you the curriculum that the teachers are teaching like stop bullying,or following rules.”We spend a lot of time making sure our kids are violence free.”said Dr.Henry LaBranche.Teachers always tell the students to be respectful and then they go to gym and play dodgeball. It does not teach students anything.
Principals should realize that it is affecting a lot of people around the world. It affects the students mentally and physically. Some people get hurt like this boy in a New Hamshire school district.A mom called in and complained about “he was being bullied in the dodgeball game in gym.” Kids are sitting ducks and when people get hurt in dodgeball it could be serious.
I think we should ban dodgeball from all schools because the severe special needs people are getting impacted in their lives because of dodgeball.dodgeball doesn't follow the curriculum, and it affects kids mentally and physically. The kids at the Elkton,Maryland school or New Hampshire school districts are right. They should ban dodgeball completely from all school around the world.
