Bansky is a famous London street artist. Bansky has done many illicit stencil and graffiti art. Graffiti is a scribble or drawing done with a spray paint can. Stencils are a sheet of paper or cardboard with cut outs to make a guide, stencils are used to make art faster and easier with spray paint cans when done the art work has been stenciled. Bansky is unverified and has gotten away with all his illicit art work. Bansky does many politically based artwork. Bansky has a network of 2 million dollars. In 2002 his artwork was being sold out of a car for under $2000. Now it is very hard to get your hands on Banksy’s artwork. When Bansky found doing graffiti was taking too long and was almost caught. He looked for another way to leave his mark and then he found stencils. Under a truck where he was hiding from the authorities saw stenciled letters where he realized Stencils were very efficient and lowered chances of being caught because they were done very quickly. To this day his identity is still unknown. In the early 1990 the beginning of Banksy’s graffiti career DryBreadZ Crew. In the late 90’s began to use stencils mainly. In 2010 Bansky released a documentary on himself called “Exit through the Gift shop”. The film was nominated Academy Award in 2011.

In this stenciled art work Bansky shows two boys in overalls with one on the others back reaching for a sign that says “Graffiti is a Crime” cleverly stenciled grabbing the spray paint can in the sign. His art work was covered with white paint in 24 hrs. People even tried to replicate the painting. The meaning or moral behind is not as obvious as his other stenciled paintings. The meaning behind the painting is the more you can convince kids that something is bad they won’t realize till they try it and experience it themselves. It doesn’t matter how much you tell them you can’t stop them.
