Bantugan, the Prince
(An excerpt)
Narrator 1: It all started from the kingdom of Bumbaran, where destruction was conspired to be brought, the tale of brilliant Prince Bantugan was told from one person to another ‘til it reached to their rival in terms of territory and power, and that mighty men were gathered endlessly to sail across the sea to find the prince who was said to have vanished and now dead.
Lady 1 & 2: Farewell my friends, I suppose we should go now. (Bow)
Makalayan: O datos, I regret to put an end to these festivities, but a new peril threatens us! I went down and I gazed across the sea half filled with foreign vintas. Enemies are sweeping down upon us, since they think that Bantugan, our strong fortress, was now dead. With my glass I recognized the vintas of Miscoyaw
Narrator 2: People were shocked with panic as they hear the name of Miscoyaw who threatened to cause destruction to Bumbaran. They set down toward the river’s mouth and flew beheld the sea, all full of vintas, simply drawing down the shore.
Dato: Oh my Magaw, come down from heaven and my other diwata dwelling in the clouds if you forbid the sun, it does not rise. So powerful spirits both, I demand you to help me now and do what I command.
Narrator 1 (acting): And as the clouds opened up, Prince Bantugan appeared lifted by the spirits with that dread rattle of his sharp campilan upon his magi shield, shouting like the voice of thunder and splashed the seas with frantic oars. But it was too late, furious Bantugan,
