MERRY CHRISTMAS, DAD
ITINERARY:
1. Scotty B’s Penthouse Apt: 723 3rd Ave Floor 4 NY, NY 10017 (Midtown East)
2. Meatball Shop: 84 Stanton St (Lower East Side)
Only balls on this menu, Beef, Pork, Chicken, Vegetable and Special of the Day … (I know, how can you call a vegetarian meatball a “Meat”-ball). Grab a few meatball sliders and the first beer of the day. 3. Katz’s Delicatessen: 205 East Houston Street (Lower East Side)
Best pastrami sandwich in NYC, famous since 1888…and yes, they have hot dogs for Bru.
4. Pinche Taqueria: 333 Lafayette Street (NOLITA)
Grilled Fish Taco straight from Tijuana…And probably about that time for cerveza number 2, too.
DECISION TIME:
5. A: A Salt and Battery: 112 Greenwich Avenue (West Village)
Authentic Fish and Chips from Jolly Ol’ England…question is, do the servers have fake accents?
5. B: Flex Mussels: 154 West 13th Street (Greenwich Village)
Fra diavolo, white wine or 19 other flavors to choose from…and a Belgian Beer on the side to finish it off. OR
6. The Gingerman NY: 11 East 36th Street (Murray Hill)
66 beers on tap, and 120+ bottled beers if you get bored with those. Hope you have a good base of food by now, because the journey begins switching over to drinks from food at this point.
7. Brother Jimmy’s: 416 8th Avenue (Midtown West)
Across the street from MSG, almost to the pinnacle of the journey. This is a down-home southern bar. If we still have room for food, the Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Wings or Pulled Pork are a must. But, more importantly, is getting a good luck Natty Light/PBR and possibly even a McGriddle shot before heading into the game. 8. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN: NY RANGERS V. COLORADO AVALANCHE 7PM.
