The Barter Market will be conducted on Saturdays, on a fortnightly basis, from 6:00am to 10:00am. The venue is the premises of Evangelistic Centre (between the Annex Building and the sanctuary). Members will inform the Barter Market Inventory Officer of the kind and quantity of item to be bartered at least one day prior to Market Day. This will facilitate effective planning and eliminate incidents such as a glut.
The membership will carry their goods on the designated day to the location. At Station #1, all goods will be weighed and valued at open market price by Barter Market Officials. Barter Points will then be issued to be used to obtain desired goods brought by other participants. Evaluators will advise persons on points amassed on their membership card. These points can be carried over to other market days and have no expiry date.
Customers will then proceed to Station #2 where Exchange Assistants will help them to access the goods they desire. The customer will them receive a slip of paper showing the amount of points used. The Transaction Cards will be updated at Station #3 to reflect the day’s transaction.
Any remaining items on Barter Market will be given to vulnerable persons in the community.
