Fill in the following boxes by identifying and describing three types of personality assessment. List a specific assessment, or the procedure for measuring this type of personality measure. Describe whether or not you think this is an effective method for measuring personality. Be sure to answer the question below the box. Major Categories of Personality Measures | Description of the Category of Personality Measures | Identify a specific assessment in each category of personality measure (or process of assessment). | SELF-REPORT | A method of gathering data about people by asking them questions about a sample of their behavior. | Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2: A widely used self-report test that identifies people with psychological difficulties and is employed to predict some everyday behaviors. | PROTECTIVE | A test in which a person is shown an ambiguous stimulus and asked and asked to describe it or tell a story about it. | Rorschach: The TAT consists of a series of pictures about which a person is asked to write a story. | BEHAVIORAL | Direct measures of an individual’s behavior used to describe personality characters. | The assessment carried out naturalistically by observing people in their own settings. |

What factors might influence the outcome of a personality assessment?
- No single test can provide and understanding of the intricacies of someone’s personality without considering a good deal of more information than can be provided in a single testing session. (Feldman, 2011) Pg 408
