Battle Of The Atlantic Essay
The Battle of the Atlantic was a major part of World War II on the Western Front. This battle started when the Allies wanted to supply the Soviet Union and Britain during their fight against Italy and Germany (Ducksters 1). So, it involved Axis powers, mostly Germany, and the Allies, which was mostly Britain. It began at the beginning of World War II and lasted until the end of the war. Overall, this battle was over five years and eight months, starting on September 3, 1939 and ending May 8, 1943 (Ducksters 3).

When the Battle of the Atlantic began, battles were in favor of Germany. They were able to attack many British ships with torpedoes. In 1943 the Germans had a lot of ships in the Atlantic Ocean and had a large production of U-boats (Ducksters 5). The war helped develop more and better submarines and ships on both sides. This resulted in a manufacturing boom in the U.S. and employment for women and minorities. It also helped develop technology to be used against submarines in wars (Ducksters 7). Politically, this battle also helped the United States form alliances they hadn’t had before.

The Battle of the Atlantic had an impact on future history. It helped develop new technology to be used while fighting and the idea of manufacturing more boats (Ducksters 7). These could have then been used on the history that was after that. This could make people’s perspective change about the things that come out of war. For example, people probably didn’t know that new, useful technology can be a result of

It changed the entire way New Mexico was governed and controlled. It took until president Hayes had to get involved to realize how much corruption and distrust there was in the county of Lincoln. Sheriffs were choosing sides even colonels in the army sent to arrest most of them only chose one sides men to arrest. This war helped America see that law is needed to ensure that disputes such as this one don't get to far out of hand and create a much bigger problem than one that is needed. If there was no law this kind of thing would happen much more because nobody would have the power to stop it. The war had much more than just Tunstalls boys against Murphys men but the biggest display of the lack of law was between them. They were unstoppable anyone that stood in there way was usually killed in trying to do so many civilians died in the process because they had been forced to fight even tho most of them didn't know what for they had no choice but to star in the action. therefore if the law was not introduced into the lincoln county war it may have gone on way longer than it did many more lives could have been…

The United States had always been on the side of the Allies in World War II, however, they did not officially join the fight until the year 1942. They would supply the allied forces in clever ways to technically remain neutral, as well as cutting off Japan from trade in order to weaken them and stop their attempts to take over the pacific. Once the US joined, Japan was the secondary objective to Europe, but once Germany was defeated, they could focus on Japan. The battle of Marianas included a major defeat and destruction of the Japanese navy, as well as the recapture of important strategic islands - Saipan, Guam, and Tinian - that turned the future of battle against the Japanese. This was important as it was where the US military began to be certain that they could push the Japanese back and force their surrender. Overall, this battle was the point in WWII where the tides of war in America’s favor, cementing it’s place in history.…

The Belly of the Atlantic by Fatuo Diome centers around what France represents to third world countries, and depicts how blindingly desperate some citizens are to improve their life by escaping to it; France is perceived by them as a paradise but as the novel progresses it becomes more evident that it’s a false promise, a land with its own problems that will not guarantee success. In the beginning of the novel Madické, the brother of the protagonist, views France as the place “where dead men sleep in palaces, [so] surely the living must be dancing in paradise” (Diome 56). Madické perceives France as paradise, a place where “your wildest dreams can come true”, believing this he spends every day improving his soccer skills to play in France (Diome 58). This naïve perception and determination demonstrates how many young third world citizens latch onto an idea and blindly cling to it despite being confronted…
