What is BD Pathshala?
BD Pathshala is an online learning platform on a mission to provide quality educational material for the Bengali speaking people around the world. The majority of the Bengali speaking communities are mainly based in Asia. We believe that by targeting the Bengali communities in this way we are able to provide a platform that can educate, empower and change the socio-economic status of the Bengali people in their respective countries. Perhaps then, they would feel more confident to participate in the mainstream societies around the world. Thus in turn, the Bengali people would educate and teach others about their own unique language and cultures.
Why in Bengali?
With at least 230 million native speakers around the World, Bangla or Bengali is the national language of Bangladesh and an official language of India. Bengali ranked the 7th language in terms of the number of people speaking any language. With the rate of growing population it has the potential to be number 6th surpassing Portuguese. It has numerous dialects, which show mainly phonological and lexical differences. However, Standard Bengali is used in educational and formal social settings and is understood by speakers of the various dialects. Recently, Bengali was included as one of the official languages of the UN- Peace Mission and it has been accepted as an official language in Sierra Leone (Africa). In future, we expect to see an increase in the Bengali speaking population around the World. Many Bengali speaking people live in Europe and the American region.

As she proceeds, she mentions the time when she was walking down the street with her mother and husband discussing prices of new and old furniture, where she became aware once again of the switch in her English. She tells the reader that when she switches her Englishes to speak to her loved ones, their kind of English becomes their language of intimacy that relates to family talk and the language she grew up with. Overall as an educator you want to try and avoid the target behavior and use the replacement behavior as much as possible.…

An early childhood professional can support language and literacy development in three ways. First, the professional has to expose the children to the real life vocabulary. Children have to learn and practice the vocabulary they will hear at home. The vocabulary has to increase depending on the students’ age and on how much knowledge they learn every day. Second, children have to create and make their own vocabulary. If they make and create designs with the vocabulary is easier for them to remember it. After they create the vocabulary and the alphabet, they have to hang their creations all over the classroom. Third, the educator…
