10-1-2013 Have you ever had an assignment and wondered if you should work with a group or work alone. In my opinion, working in a group is more important than working alone. There are advantages and disadvantaged to working in a group, but I rather work in a group because you can divide the work among several people and get work done faster , you can come up with more ideas and solutions, and you can interact with people and have less stress doing the project. In a group you can divide the work among several people, which can help get the job done. When having group members each member can have a part to do in the project, which puts less work on you. You can get more work done with a group than by yourself in the same amount of time. For Example, in history we had to do a PowerPoint about cultures, so I decided to work in a group. We split the work in parts among the group members and we finished the group project in 1 day. We later received an A and I was happy, that I collaborated with other students for the project. Second reason is you can come up with more ideas and solutions. Rather than a single person creating ideas you have a group making ideas which is more productive, Thus leading to better and more solutions. In many projects I have done in school, I tend to get better grades working with a partner. For example, for the science fair I chose to have a partner and my friend chose to work alone. So all through the whole year we were turn all the assignment in and my friend was struggling and had a d for the science fair. We got an A for the science fair. This example shows that having a group is beneficial. Lastly I think working in a group is better because you can interact with people and have less stress. You will have less stress because you won’t have to do a lot of work and remember when to do certain parts. You also can talk with partners, share ideas and communicate all you want.
