To assess the implementation of bedside reporting impacts on patient care, a baseline of falls, injuries, and medical errors would be obtained prior to bedside reporting. At the end of each month a report will be generated to show how many of these adverse events occurred. The goal would be to see a steady decrease in adverse events over the course of a three to six-month time period. To address patient experience, communication, and quality of care received, patients and their family members will continue to receive a patient survey; the results of these surveys will be plotted with results both prior to implementation of bedside reporting and after to create a graph that shows the if the new procedure has had a positive impact on the patients. To address the impact on time management of the nursing staff, a report of hours worked by the nurses will be generated.
