Behind Closed Door Play Analysis
Introduction
The play that my group and I read and presented was Behind Closed Doors, a play with the concept of, Tragedy in your past can affect your present if you do not let go and move on. The role I played was the director, which is a role in the theater, that’s very much so unappreciated. The purpose of the presentation project was to actually understand, hands on, what it takes to produce a Theatre play, and what the jobs and elements are to do so. In theatre, communication is key. Every job works in harmony with one another, and they all need each other to put on an incredible show.
My Role
Being the director, I played a substantial part in the involvement of each designers’ job. I set out to accomplish selecting an ideal play and analyzing the script, constructing research on actors, selecting the cast, and communicating with my group to ensure our work was well-organized. By picking the play Behind Closed Doors, I knew exactly who to cast, Idris Elba as John, and Bianca Lawson as Jaqueline. Both of these

Both are a necessity to be successful in any career you decide to be in. By improving your presentation skills, you are not only opening the doors to business success, but to leadership and confidence. If people practice speaking in public, they will have an increased confident in themselves to communicate with others. Being able to speak to a crowd or audience with a loud and confident voice, is a great way to show leadership, it can help your other group members be more confident if you are confident. For the next team project, I would like to explore the career of the costume designer. In high school I, along with 4 other people, was in charge of getting the costume items the director (Theater Teacher) chose. Therefore, it would be pretty interesting and fun to apply my own feelings and opinions to match every detail of an outfit with the characteristics and personality of a character in a

Of the many live performances I have been able to see, by far my favorite is Wicked. I have always been drawn to plays that are fantasy-based versus those that focus on realism. Wicked is a complete fun-ride of fantasy from beginning to end. From it's variety of outrageous characters to it's musical score, each aspect of drama is clear and defined in this play. Theme, music, and spectacle will be the focus in this essay, but that is not to say each aspect does not have a role in the show. Wicked presents the aspects of drama in a way that an audience remembers.…

On November 20th I went to the Black Box theatre to see the play Seminar. It was a small production, and there were only five actors. Going into the play, I had no idea what to expect. I had heard the play was a bit raunchy, with explicit dialogue and provocative scenes. The play started out with four actors portraying college graduate writers. I loved how realistic the setting was; it really looked like somebody’s real apartment. The actors did very well portraying emotion, and every thing they did and said I could relate to. At one point, a girl was eating real ice cream and complaining on the couch to her friend. I thought it was funny how every girl could relate to that scene. I also liked that the actor had no problem devouring ice cream on top of memorizing her lines and acting at the same time. I would find it hard not to focus on anything other than the delicious taste of the ice cream.…

Janet Moyles created the 'play spiral' Framework which encourages children to explore and learn new skills through structured and unstructured play. The spiral starts with practitioners letting the children explore the environment and resources through 'free play' and unstructured play, this gives them the opportunity to play and create their own rules and develop their own experiences. This is beneficial to practitioners as it allows them to observe the children and plan effectively in order to enhance play. The next part of the spiral is 'Mastery Play', this enables the children to rehearse and develop their play. They begin to enhance their play by using their imagination and beginning to understand how they think they should be using the…

On the evening of March 23, 2006 my boyfriend and I made a visit to Brenham, Texas to see a play entitled "The Heiress." Playing the role of an audience member for the night, we dressed nicely (even though we were traveling to one of the smallest towns in Texas), went to a nice dinner at On the Border, and went to the show. We participated as an audience member in that we had to travel to the performance and were able to take part in the play from a visually entertaining side versus an actual performing side.…

The play, Incorruptible, is full of deceit, irony and just a little bit of morally wrong acts committed by Christian monks. The first act begins with Charles the head monk of the church is praying to the relics of the Saint Stella. A peasant woman is trying to sneak in a few prayers without paying the church a penny to pray. Martin, another monk of the church, and Charles are arguing because their church is not getting very many donations and not making very much money. Saint Stella’s relics that these Brothers honor as their church patron have seemed to stop performing miracles. They all hope that Brother Felix, yet another monk in the church will bring the Pope to their church to see their Saint and honor it, hoping that it will help Saint Stella to perform miracles. Unfortunately, Brother Felix is unable to bring the Pope to their church. The Pope had already gone off to a different city because it was rumored that a monk with one eye sold the real relics of Saint Stella to the church of the city of Barbados. This insinuating that the ones the Brothers have is not the real Saint Stella, but a fake. The peasant woman comes back and wants her donation of one button back. The rumor has spread threw the city that…

From working with audio, lights, painting, carving, drilling, promotion and ushering; I have had a big taste of what happens to make the (magic) of seeing a live theater show. My favorite memory of working in the scene show was carving angels. I have assisted students with the Second City Dream Team. My favorite memory of being a Second City Dream Team member was when I realized that theatre in Chicago is an extremely supportive community. When the Second City had a fire many theatres assisted the second city with classrooms and stage space so all of the magic at the Second City can still happen despite the fire. One day with the Second City Dream Team, I was ushering for Twist Your Dickens. I felt so blessed to even be there passing out flyers and seeing so many happy audience members walk through the door. I wanted to see the show more than anything and I was told if there was an open seat that I would be able to come in to see the show. I was infatuated with the set and how much detail was put into making even the set…
