In Neal Shusterman’s Downsiders, Talon lives Downside, that is, underneath New York City. There is a strict code of secrecy among the Downsiders, taboos forbid them from going Topside, but the two worlds collide when Talon ventures up looking for medicine for his sickly sister. Through his journey, he meets Lindsay, a Topside girl who intrigues and lures him so much that he breaks a crucial rule and takes her into the tunnels, to show her his “amazing” side of life right under Grand Central Station, full of unwanted, forgotten items, dryer lint, subway tokens, soda-can tabs-that have become useful, even…beautiful to him. Her visit leads to a threatening chain of events, which seem to affect both top and downsiders.…
This summer I had the privilege of job shadowing a great lawyer and family friend, Nancy Bonilla. I have nearly always wanted to be a lawyer, and in all honesty I was a little concerned that after watching a real court hearing, and seeing all the work that lawyers actually have to put into each and every case, I would no longer wish to become a lawyer. However my fears were removed entirely as soon as I walked into her downtown Fort Worth office; the day I had arranged to job shadow Mrs. Bonilla, she had a court hearing in Denton, so immediately upon my arrival I was exposed to the last minute stress of getting the clients case in order. I was able to help Mrs. Bonilla with getting her paper work…

From the beginning of when I can remember everything has been shared. Birthday parties, celebrations, pictures, graduation day and even small things like a room when I was younger. But I never minded it. Sharing with my twin brother seemed natural and it was almost strange that everyone else didn’t share like we did. But it seemed that everyone else didn’t think that we liked to share with each other. Throughout my childhood, I remember family and friends poking fun at our shared birthday parties with comments like “Don’t you wish you had your own party?” My answer is no. Many of my family members held the idea that sharing everything and ultimately being a twin was wretched…

I will have to start looking into all the different classes that are required for the major and start taking some of them.…
The most common pathway by which patients can access the TB service includes referrals from GP surgeries, accident and emergency, laboratory microbiology, hospital wards and other hospital specialties such as HIV (Gum clinic), rheumatology and paediatrics. TB services have one designated referral number, fax, email address and contact address. The care pathway for patients who show signs and symptoms of TB will require a number of investigations, which will include a Mantoux Skin test, when a small amount of Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) is injected into the arm and the results will be read 48/72 hours later, a chest x-ray, sputum samples or a bronchoscopy. Once these investigations have been completed and if the results are positive for active TB, the patient will be commenced on TB treatment. This treatment will be for a minimum six months to two years depending on the type of TB…

People have judged and misunderstood others for as long as humans were on this Earth. People have a nasty habit to think of people who have been lonely and bullied as outsiders, although outsiders are just people who are completely misunderstood and judged the wrong way. If people took the time to know these “outsiders” people mistreat, they would understand that these people are just normal kids that got mistreated badly. Nobody wants to be an “outsider”, but sometimes you become one for various of different reasons like being a new kid, being smarter than most kids, wanting to be alone, and more.…
Going back to my best year! Sophomore year was the year I had to get myself together and stop acting so amateur, it was the year I start acting like an adult. Therefore It was a great year for me. My sophomore year was not like other teenagers, I had many downfalls, but that didn't stop me from accomplishing my goals. Around this time I wanted to try a sport for the first time, so I tried out for the wrestling team, but they didn't work out so well. Sophomore year I didn't make any new friends, cause I don't like making new friends, it's just too much. My day one friends stayed the same, these are the people who have been through hell and back with me. I didn't learn how to drive my tenth grade year, because I was procrastinating. I was skipping school and getting into…
