Poverty results in having little money and lack of a certain amount of material possessions. It comes from having low income and not having the ability to acquire basic needs for survival without losing a person’s dignity. Poverty could come upon anyone but it most likely will be found with those who suffer from low levels of education and health, have poor access to sanitation, are lacking physical security, and those found to be mentally ill. For people living in or close to the poverty line an “everyday” issue such as a broken down car, unpaid tickets, or even a lack of car insurance may not be as easy to solve as it would be for someone with a higher income and can be the final factor for rendering them homeless. If a person has no income and nobody to rely on to help them pay for certain needs then the chance of becoming homelessness is great for that person. Without being employed paying for a house to live in is nearly impossible. During periods of depression in a country the homelessness rate will be at its highest. A way to help downsize the amount of homelessness we need to decrease the unemployment rate. I believe the best way to do this would be to elect officials to help us create more jobs. That way there will be more employed americans and less homeless
