Ben And Me Narrative: A Short Story
Ben and Me Narrative

Me and Ben were from Warsaw, Poland. We were two of the lucky ones who actually survived WWII. Now, I’m sure you’d think as being kids, we wouldn’t have really done too much to try and fight the war, but we did. And, we didn’t do it alone neither, we had the help of one of the best partisan groups out there.
“What’s going on, why are they doing this?” Ben asked.
“I don’t know, let’s go and see,” I interjected.
“Okay, let’s go,” Ben agreed.
“Who are these people?” I questioned.
“ I think they’re called ‘Nazi’s’,” Ben assured.
“Where are they taking us?” I interrupted.
“Somebody said something about a camp,” Ben answered.
“What do you mean a camp?” I gasped.
“I’m not sure, it’s probably going to be like a prison

After a while Ben and I got tired of being stuck in the smelly ghetto and would sneak out along with some others to get food.
One of the times we snuck out, we ran into a partisan group in the woods, where one day we joined.
We learned all sorts of stuff such as shooting guns, falling asleep on the cold hard forest floor (which wasn’t too different from being in the ghetto), ambushing polish police officers, and fighting. To help fight the war, we would help kill Nazi’s, German soldiers, and polish police officers. I still remember feeling the cold hard forest floor as I tried to sleep, the feeling of dirt in my mouth every time I woke up, and the horribly loud sound of tanks driving by.
One day when Ben and I were walking in the woods, we seen a Nazi soldier who was as angry as a wasp.
Then, one day, we started hearing rumors about the war had ending, but since they were just little rumors we kept doing what we usually did, and a couple of months later what do you know, the war actually was over.
After the war, Ben and I go back to normal life. We never seen our families

The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest ghetto in Germany. This resistance inspired other ghettos to fight back the Nazis. 300,000 Jews were deported to the Treblinka extermination camp leaving 70,000 jews in the Ghetto. Most of the jews were slowly dying from illnesses or starvation. Around 1000 men formed the Jewish Fighting Organization. Their main slogan was “Brothers, don’t die in silence. Let’s fight!” On January 1943 the organization fought back the Nazis. The Nazis lost 20 soldiers and 50 were injured. The Nazis soldiers retreated and left the ghetto alone. The Jews knew that the German soldiers were going to come back. On April 19, 1943, at 2 AM the SS soldiers return to liquidated…

The only feeling of security that the soldiers returning home was the feeling of winning. The feeling of satisfaction persisted among the American soldiers that they had avenged the tragedy of Pearl Harbor. Greetings, I am Benjamin Franklin. I have done many important jobs over the course of my life. I was a printer, publisher, inventor, scientist, philosopher, musician, and economist to name a few. Growing up in America in the early 1700s, I was a strong Patriot and am most proud of the jobs I did that contributed to the Revolutionary War. In being a member of the Second Continental Congress and signing the Declaration of Independence, serving as a diplomat, and writing and signing the treaty of Paris, I helped America gain its independence and protect its freedoms. The Second Continental Congress met twice to discuss breaking away. The first time, we decided to ready an army in case of any attacks from Britain, but not to break away. A battle…

To begin with, children whose parents survived were reunited. One-third of the children in the Kindertransport were reunited with at least one parent. It took a lot of time for them to figure out whether their parents were alive or not. Many women who claimed their children were abandoned by their husbands for contemptuous feelings. In other cases, children who had dead parents had to move on. Lots had stayed in orphanages and were placed in displaced person camps (a camp where disabled people stayed). Jewish children flew to Eastern Europe to start a new life there. Many older children emigrated to Yishuv, Israel, or North America. In fact, the Hess family was lucky enough to emigrate to the United States. A mother named Gerti sent four children to England during the war on a Kindertransport. The four children were all musicians where Marion, the oldest, plays the piano, Uschi, a twin of Gisi, plays the cello, Gisi plays the violin, and George plays something with strings. Marion worked as a maid, like her mother, for a family in England. She found out her father lived in New York and joined her father after the war. She married and raised children while she and her siblings aspired to join bands. To go somewhere after the war, children were placed in orphanages or tried to find their families.…
