In Bend It Like Beckham, director Gurinder Chadha uses the character Jess to develop the theme of inner conflict with displaying her inability to live two lives. During the whole movie she struggled to do this because she tired being a “true” Indian that her mother wanted her to be and the soccer player she wanted to be. This resulted in the wedding almost getting called off because Pinkeys mother in law drove by when she saw Jess hanging out with Jules who looked like a white guy which is unacceptable to be with someone who is not Indian. “Happy now? - My whole wedding's been called off 'cause of you!” Pinky screamed at her as Jess was in confusion because she did not do anything of that. So Jess asked what she was talking about and her mother responded with “They saw you being filthy with an English boy!” As you could her the disappointment in her voice. Jess later was able to explain that it was Jules and thankfully the wedding was called back on. But before that Pinkey was so angry at Jess that she snitched “She ain't got

For example, In Scott Fujita article “Would I let my son play Football”, he states “ Certainly there are lessons to be learned from playing football, about toughness, battling through adversity, and teamwork”. This example shows that if my son joins he will have a chance of learning life skills. My son will learn how to work with and make friends.
