He was the 10 son of 17 of a man who made soap and candles. In his early life at the age of twelve he became an apprentice to his brother who was a printer. He would later on establish his own printing shop. When opening his printing shop he published his successful paper “Poor Richard’s Almanack”. Shortly after his printing press business had expanded throughout the colonies. It was such a success that Franklin could retire at the age of 42. The title sets the tone and style for Jean-Jaques Rousseau autobiography. Confessions strays away from the Enlightenment movement and discusses different aspects of human beings. Unlike Benjamin’s Franklin’s autobiography, Confessions embraces humility and embarrassment. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is more didactic, emphasizes the importance of learning how to write, read, and speak well. There are natural laws emplaced and systems that should be followed, but Confessions disrupts the ideas of the Enlightenment movement and ignites the start of romanticism.…

This idea evolved into the idea of a subscription library, whereby the dues of the members could be pooled to purchase books that all could share. This collection would be held by the Library Company of Philadelphia, an organization that Benjamin personally wrote the charter for. Benjamin entrusted this collect by hiring America’s first librarian Louis Timothee. After accomplishing all this, at the age of twenty-two, Benjamin went about setting up his own printing house in Philadelphia. With this medium, Franklin spread forth his humor and wisdom to his readers. Becoming very popular, he used his profits to continue to improve himself and his community. With one hand he flew kites into storms to prove that lightning was composed of electricity while creating one of the first volunteer firefighting companies in America. Through his ingenuity and success, Benjamin Franklin was able to retire in 1747 at the age of forty-one. This free up his time to enter politics and help forge the United States of America. After all his grand accomplishments, as he neared the end of his life, he wrote down the story of his life which were published shortly after his death. I would like to make a proposal, my proposal is about Ben Franklin's autobiography which was originally published in 1791. It has been a great a piece of history writing for people of this generation to look back at and learn about what the world was like back then and what Ben Franklin did and how he came from nothing to being put on the 100 dollar bill. My proposal would be to re publish his autobiography, I know it's gonna take money to do that, but if you re publish the autobiography I am sure that a profit will be made. Ben Franklin's writing is a hard writing to ignore and to think its boring, Franklin uses a sense of humor in his writing. He uses his own style which is terse and witty, he makes his points using as few words as possible.…

I wanted to wish you a congratulations on your recent publication of the Gulfstream Chart in London. I hear it hasn’t been very well received in the community, so I am writing you this letter because of our connected interests in women's rights. This particularly sights in on their education, household habits, their right to vote, and the limited power of the husband over the wife, such as their children and marriage in the United States. John Adams , my husband, supports my interests privately and he currently suppresses it in publicly because of the office he holds. Though it did not, I thought that his position would help me. I approached both him and Mr. Mercy Otis Warren, my friend. Mr. Warren is with congress…

Born into a large, poor family, and predominantly self- educated, he went on to become a great politician, inventor, scientist, military leader, and diplomat.
