I am proud of the artifact that I had created because I had used my creativity to create my a. I chose not to trace an image, but to instead draw it with my own hands. I had also had put my full effort into this articulate. That is why I am proud of this piece I made. This piece was a challenge for me because I am horrible at drawing. I had to take my time dawning over and over again to get the right picture drawn properly. That was a challenge for me, but in the end the artwork look came out . This piece shows that I understand how propaganda was used during world war 1 and world war 2. My artifact shows this when I state quotes that are just as catchy ad the propaganda used in WW1 and WW2. The artwork in my artifact represents a theme that takes place during WW1 and WW2.

As well as a written reflection, you will also assign yourself a level that you feel your product deserves based on the rubric included in this package. After you have assigned a grade to each of the four categories, justify the grade you gave yourself.
4

Level:

K – 3- T – 3- C - 3 A – 2

Justification:
I would give myself a level 3- in knowledge, 3- in thinking, a 3 in communication, and a 2 in application. I believe I deserve these levels for these categories because in knowledge, I have used every content required to make a propaganda that was used in WW1 and WW2, I had both, a creative artwork, and a slogan that I made, but I believe I could of added more information and images to represent how it was back in WW1 and WW2. In thinking, I believe I should deserve a level 3 because thinking involves creativity and using critical thinking skills and so, I did use my thinking skills to create my propaganda poster. I had made my own artwork, and catchy slogans to get the viewer’s attention. In communication I believe I deserve a level 3 because my written quotes on the two propaganda poster shows a similarity with the artwork, this gives readers a better understanding

History is compilation of data and materials gathered throughout time and analyzed to form some consensus of what happened in the past. A common way people learn about history is through reading and memorizing textbooks and historical literature. This can be an effective way of understanding the past but it is important to not overlook other ways of understanding the past such as artwork. Although artwork may not always tell the person about specific knowledge, it may sometimes give more information that other sources could not. The important thing to note about historical artwork is that it shows the scholar insight about what the people of the time thought of themselves and not what other people thought of them. In this way, artwork acts as a primary source and gives off first hand information about a people’s own culture. Specifically,…

The artifacts on display represent the idea that art “legitimized political leader and enhance efforts in war” because of the clothing and weapons that were in display. The last section of the museum that we visited had “chief” outfits, the long hats that had feathers all the way around it and long outfits. In the same section of the museum there was also huge bows and arrows that were used when fighting. Next to the bows and arrows there were spheres that had a very long and sharp end to kill…

» The McCarthy hearings were trials in which Senator Joe McCarthy accused government employees of being Communists. He exaggerated and exploited the evidence and ruined many reputations. Blacklists were created and many employers refused to hire the suspected or accused. (If they did then they would be accused.) Due to the exaggerated evidence and the seriousness of the charges, the hearings struck fear in many Americans. Although at first popular, the public began to wonder how far it would go. After McCarthy accused the U.S. Army of housing Communists, his committee began to go down hill. The army strongly defended themselves as they sought to end McCarthy's "witch-hunts." In November of 1954 the Watkins committee censured McCarthy under two counts. The Senate voted to "condemn" him on December 22, 1954. This censure ended McCarthyism but could never undo all of the damage that it had caused.…

In our world people forget what you told them and people forget an experience that they had in the past, but people never forgot how they felt and how an object of significance made them feel. Furthermore, Art and it’s culture has had a great impact on the people throughout history. A painting has its significance and it was created with an intention that only the artist knows. The people who view the painting have a feeling when they see it, it connects them to their own version of fantasy and makes them feel a certain way. Similarly, The Column of Trajan was an ancient ruins, which was built in a victory by the Roman Army.…

In this essay I am going to be exploring two artefacts and discussing the relationships between them, considering the meanings behind them, the time and context. The first artefact I have chosen to explore is ‘Turquoise Marilyn’, which is Acrylic and Silkscreen on Linen created by Andy Warhol, 1964. The second artefact is ‘For the Love of God’, which is platinum cast of a human skull, studded with over 8500 diamonds, created by Damien Hirst, 2007. While I think these two artifacts offer multiple topics of interesting similarities I want to focus on the impact that society, technological developments, economic factors and formal innovations had on the artists. The main question I want to draw on in the essay on is how both of the artefacts raised questions at the times they were made because they both were so new and challenged previous styles and why the artists did this.…

    The Human Experience

The art work that stands out most to me is one that portrays a young boy as a soldier in the US Army. The human experience from this could be expressed as one of many, love, loss, pain, hope, despair, values, beliefs and as we hope not but even death. I think the artist had love, loss and pain in mind with the painting. This is meaningful to my life because I feel that this is a portrait of myself as a young boy. I joined the US Army at seventeen, finished my basic training, school house training and was shipped off to Iraq with my unit before I was even close to being eighteen. I believed in what I was doing, I lost a lot of family and some really great friends in that war. I too had a picture taken with my uniform and full battle rattle, as we called the bullet proof vest, on. In that picture I was all smiles but honestly I was extremely scared and felt almost alone. This picture shows a young man with the same uniform on smiling. It really takes me back in time and allows me to see what war did to the once innocent young smiling boy that I was. I still to this day believe in all I have done, know that somewhere in there I have done them for the right and values of America but still it bothers me now. It also makes me fear for the young boy in the picture, fear for the outcome that will happen.…
