Tiresias tells Oedipus that if he knew who his parents were, it would ruin him. My thoughts are that Oedipus should be the one to choose if it will ruin him or not, if Oedipus knew who his parents were, maybe he wouldn’t be grumpy and bossy. Oedipus thinks Creon knows something about the Apollo which he refuses to say. What Oedipus understood by what Creon and Tiresias said is that the oracle of Apollo knows that Oedipus Killed king Laius. Creon and Oedipus are arguing instead of finding as solution trying to help one another to save the country you are both here arguing. Creon is arguing him and just thought that it was fine from him to tell him about how he treats his sister and if he really does love her then he should give her the same power he has. Oedipus prefers to give her everything she asks for than to give her power. Oedipus and Jocasta are one pair, if he trusts her he should trust her with his power as well because all relationship works prefect and last forever working as a team. Jocasta stands up to her husband and her brother tells them instead of you men standing there arguing like children you can both come up with a man to save this country together. Jocasta advises Oedipus against acting out of violence on the strength of rumor, so Oedipus banishes Creon. Jocasta tells Oedipus that an oracle informed Laius that he would be killed by his own child. Jocasta tells Oedipus that it was impossible because the child was abandoned on a deserted mountainside after birth. Jocasta explains how King Laius was killed, Oedipus was suspecting that he was the murderer of King Laius after all. Oedipus was telling Jocasta about his life when he was young, how he believed he was the son of Polybus of Corint and Merope, until one day a drunk man told Oedipus that polybus was not his father. Young Oedipus didn’t believe what the drunk man said and went to see the oracle of Apollo, told Oedipus what’s was going to happen to King Laius, how King Laius was going to killed by his own child and marry his mother. Oedipus has had a hard life through the play, I think he should just find out who his parents are and run his kingdom just like his father did while he was
