Paul tells the Colossians of his prayers for them to become more consumed in the spirit of God, and reminds them give thanks for the unfathomable deliverance from darkness.
Principle-ize:
All believers should pray for themselves and others to become more consumed in the spirit of God and remember to give thanks at all time for the unfathomable deliverance from darkness.
Personalize:
As I study a read this chapter, I realized that I have taken for granted the deliverance that God has granted me and also the desire to be consumed even more by the holy spirit and seek a deeper understand of God. Therefore, as of 11/5/2012, I will add to my morning prayers the request to be consumed in the spirit of God’s will for my life in its entirety. I have been half stepping as it pertains to being a servant of the Lord and its time to be full and filled as Paul wrote to the Colossians. I will also increase my study time of Gods word by an hour by decreasing one of my one hour television shows. Instead of watch the show that I have DVRed, to watch on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday’s on these days during those times I will consume myself with Gods word. This will allow me to be more prepared and more effectively seek his face by being more knowledgeable, and having a better understanding of His word which allows me to continue to use the tools that I have learn and not lose them. This also allows the holy spirit to act on my request of being consumed because I have now made myself more available to be consumed.
