The image of God is something that is present in all human beings and is deeply integrated in how we live our daily lives. The concept of image of God is first mentioned in Genesis, chapter one, verses twenty-six and twenty-seven. “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” These two verses explain how humans are created in the image of God but do not necessarily explain in what way humans are like Him. Knowing that each and every person I encounter in the music industry and even in daily life has value and potential because they in some way resemble the God that I love and worship.
According to Mark 12:13-17, since we bear the image of God we belong to Him and thus owe Him our lives. When I go into my career I want to make sure I am always giving my life to God, making sure that I don’t go through with something unless I feel it is in His will for my, or rather his, life.
Knowing that part of the Image of God is also in creating, and because of that I can have confidence in my abilities, I want to put forth my best effort in and out of the studio. I want to create and edit music with excellence, to work hard with artists to help them improve their sound, and to help them create the best quality music that they can achieve.
Lastly I believe the image of God is also found in our ability to have relationships. Having relationships with people in the music industry is extremely important for making connections and creating future job opportunities. Knowing that part of God’s nature is to have a relationship, inspires me to really appreciate and cherish the relationships I will make, as well as the ones I already
