Bicylce Theives, Directed By Vittorio De Sica

The movie bicylce theives directed by Vittorio De Sica was a drama/crime film released in 1948. The movie was about a poor father who was searching for his bicycle after it was stolen while putting up fliers. The bicylce ment everything to him because without he wouldnt be able to provide money to his family. His job required a bicyle for transportation and for it to get stolen made him go crazy and desperate. The father and his son search the city of italy and throughot the journey the father got into some problems.

Antonio Ricci(father) and Bruno(kid) did a great job acting for their firt time being in a movie. At first i thought one of them was going to look into the camera or just making a mistake but i didnt catch anything. The father showed a lot of emotion which is hard to do for someones first time, but he mastered it. The anger and frustration was spot on in every aspect. Now for the kid i say the same thing but i liked how he a funny side in him. The things he would do were funny, for example in the church scene he would some funny
Antonio and his family were very poor and they relied on antonios job to make a better living. I felt like that could of been changed and instead finding a solution to the problem. For example pawning some other items to get another bike could of been a beter solution. It could of saved him from an embarassment and also more importantly preventing from setting a bad example to his son. Antonio and his son spent almost a full day searching for the bike he even go help from a freind but still had no luck. The whole jouney made me feel bad for him. Seeing his day go from a very good day to straight downhill made it emotional. Alos, for some reason the part where he confronts the theif and he ends getting away with it made me a lttle angry. Just the fact that no one was by Anotoni side and that deep down he knew it was him was
