Sanchez’s classroom while we were both on our planning period. I decided to interview this teacher because Mrs. Sanchez is one of the few teachers with outstanding classroom management. I have been to her classroom for several occasions and her students are always working silently. What surprised me the most while conducting this interview is the way she responded to the questions, I saw excitement as she spoke about her experience in the teaching field and her love for her students.
While interviewing this teacher I have learned that teaching is a very rewarding job. The biggest satisfaction teachers have is when they realize their students have grown and learned so much. Mrs. Sanchez did not just talk to me about the student’s growth, she also showed me a few examples. She also said teaching can be as hard or as easy as you want it. She recommend me to do all the work at work and try not to take work home because time for me and my family is very important. She usually arrives at school at 7:20am and leaves her classroom no later than 3:30pm that is pretty good compared to most teachers.
During the interview what I found the most interesting was knowing that Mrs. Sanchez is big on discipline. She believes good discipline molds students and helps them learn more. Having a disciplined classroom allows other children to learn as well because the distractions are minimal. I knew she had good classroom management by observing her and her class in the hallway, during specials and when they are out in the playground before lunch time. Unlike other classes, her class is very well behaved, quietly when they need to and attentive to instructions. Mrs. Sanchez has become my role model, I hope I can be as great as her when I become a teacher. From this experience I will take with me great advice from one of the greatest teachers I have ever met. I have taken great notes from everything she told me during the interview and all the student’s work she showed me. This interview has helped me grow professionally because it has made me realize that I am ready to change lives as much lives as Mrs. Sanchez. She proudly told me that her first students were getting ready to graduate this year from North Side high school. Mrs. Sanchez felt satisfied to know that her kids were going to cross the stage in a few days. In conclusion, I believe this interview went very well and was a great opportunity to see things from an experienced teacher perspective. Having this interview has motivated me even more to continue with my career. I am positive I will be a great teacher just like Mrs. Sanchez.
