To avoid the speeding truck the Toyota, Black’s car, swerved and hit the curb which caused the car to roll into a ditch and burst into flames. Black survived the accident after passing drivers pulled him out of the flaming car and to safety. However, he suffered critical injuries.

Black was on his way home from chaperoning the school’s Homecoming dance on Saturday night when he noticed the speeding truck coming towards him. To avoid a head on collision, Black tried to swerve his car. The truck still hit the car which then hit the curb and flew into a concrete ditch before it bursted into flames.

In 1973, Dax Cowart and his father went to view some property near their Texas home. They parked their car in a dry creek bed. This was not uncommon as, in parts of the desert areas in Texas, there aren’t roads, or only some dirt roads. After surveying the land, the men returned to their vehicle. They were unable to get their vehicle started so they started working on its spark plugs. As chance would have it, under the creek bed was a faulty gas line. A spark from the accelerator resulted in an explosion that left Dax Cowart’s father dead. Sixty-seven per cent of Dax’s body sustained second- and third-degree burns. Prior to this he was a healthy young jet pilot and amateur rodeo performer. Crawling from the scene of the accident he was, by chance, seen by a ranger. He begged him to shoot him. When emergency paramedics arrived he again made this request.…

Cruthis recalls that as she was driving, “I felt the car skid a little bit, and then I lost control and I couldn’t turn the wheel.” She remembers that when the car started to swerve, “I tucked my feet under the seat because my dad told me never to hit the brakes in this situation. I tensed my arms up so I didn’t touch the wheel and cause any more damage than was about to happen.” The car began to spin in the opposite direction. “I spun about three times before it drove straight into a ravine. It (the car) flipped over once, and then all I remember was the car being at the bottom of the ravine, blood being everywhere, and my head out the window,” states Cruthis.…

Hurst had already proven, using logos, that Willingham was innocent because there was no arson at the scene of the “crime” but there were several electrical shortages that caused a flashover fire. To answer the question of how Willingham escaped with no severe burns, Hurst explained that the floor would be cool until the flashover (plenty of time for Willingham to escape unscathed).…

First of all, in “Trail by fire”, the primary evidence for Cameron’s execution was the result of the police’s investigations after the fire, which determined that the fire had been started by using sort of accelerant. This included a finding a patterns on the floor in the shape of puddles. All of this considered to indicate that the fire has been started by the help of an accelerant. However, there was a new evidence to prove that Cameron was innocent, which is the phenomena of “Flash over”. Flash over is a scientific phenomenon which happens when the majority of the exposed surfaces are heated and emit flammable gases; consequently, flashover normally occurs.…

Jack Kidman looked deep into his brother’s eyes, searching intently. He scanned over and over again, praying that he would find it, but it was not there. All of the light and life had drained from Dallas’s eyes. Wanting to scream but not finding the strength to do so, Jack watched as Dallas disappeared from view behind a falling support beam, the flaming pole hitting the floor with a resounding thud. He turned deliberately towards Paxton, but the murderer was gone. A sudden tingling came from his toes, and Jack noticed his boots had caught fire. Again, however, he had not the strength nor will to do anything about it. Most of his sense of feeling was gone, his brother was gone, and he was ready to burn.…

When he was safely in the truck, he quietly drove to the hospital. Everything was going smoothly, until he saw one. A bear was walking across the street. Thomas turned off his headlights, hoping it didn't see him. He drove slowly past the grizzly. The bear didn't seem to notice the black car inching its way across the empty streets. When Thomas was fully past the bear, the engine backfired, Thomas swore and put his foot down harder against the pedal and flew as far away from the large bear as he could. He sped along to the road and to his destination, the…

The heat in my purple ‘99 Dodge Dakota had never worked. It was something I left the house prepared for every morning. Although I was wearing my fleece sweats, a hoodie, and my men’s down puffy coat, I was vibrating. It took a handful of years, but I had done it again. I rear-ended the Chevy ahead of me at the intersection of Lake Otis and O’Malley. After checking on me to make sure I was okay, the man from the Chevy made his way back to his truck to wait with his wife till the police arrived. After he…

It was a typical drive to school- fingers tapping on the steering wheel as I sing along with the overplayed pop song playing on the radio station. As I approached an intersection, I saw a dark blue sedan coming from the left, but realized that the driver had a stop sign and I did not. Therefore, I continued driving-still singing and tapping to the rhythm of the song- when suddenly, I found myself slamming on the brakes. My body jerked forward, and I looked up to find the front of my car collided with the dark blue sedan.…
