Introduction
Bill Miller case told us a meaningful story about the importance of recognition of organization culture and leadership. Bill Miller excelled in academics and was active in extracurricular activities. He was trying so hard to be successful in his new company with his self-confident and maturity and was trying to be recognized by Roger Godden who was admiring and recommending him at beginning in MVR Publishing Company. MVR Publishing Company was a family company that had been existence for over 14 years and its sales had plateaued during the last three years. However,Bill Miller was laid off four weeks later. This paper would analyze his issues and provide the possible solutions to solve these problems to help us to avoid them in our own professional lives presently and in the future.

Analysis: According to the case, MVR Publishing is a family company, run by Roger Gooden and Louise Gooden by fourteen years. All of these employees were either relatives or close friends and had been with the company since the beginning. Through Bill Miller and Roger had build a good relationship since he did not graduate yet, it meant to they will be cooperate in the future. As expect, Bill has been invited to work in MVR Publishing by Roger personally.
For Roger, he was very admired Bill’s personal ability and willing to hire him as a part of his company. Roger spent a lot of time and energy with Bill and helps him get into the work. But the problem is, Roger decided to hire Bill just a personal decision without consulted anyone else in MVR. Louise Gooden was the controller in fact. She had tremendous influence and pervasive power in this company.
