The main character not liking the flowers she receives every Friday makes the reader curious as to why she would hate receiving flowers but as the story goes on the author gives clues that maybe the flowers represent an apology for him beating her of something of that nature. But if this is the case why wouldn’t she leave? This is a common question among people that have never been in these types of relationships situations. “In the end all it takes is a little push…the air solidified in his lungs” (Bore). This draws the reader to make this assumption. This is an example of someone not accepting their fate. She had enough and put an end to what was happening to her, it may have not been the right or moral way to do so but she did what she had to. If this story was continued it would probably go on to tell how this women’s life was juristically changed for the better. Now she did not have to live in fear every day and she could be herself.
