Bismark Attack Paper
 Bismarck exemplifies the best in effective leadership. While his methods may have been temporarily distasteful, his successful ends for Germany more than justified his means to achieve them. (ATTACK)

Otto Von Bismark spent 10 years working for at united Germany in an attempt to shift the balance of power in Europe. He was once quoted as saying “People don’t make nations, strong leaders and wars do”, and he was more than willing to sacrifice his fellow Germans for his vision of a powerful Germany. Even with the great idea to bring Germany together, I believe it was the farthest example of the best in effective leadership. In fact based on the video and research I believe Bismark used blackmail and temper tantrums to get his way which is not the mark of a great and powerful leader. When the King of Prussia asked Bismark to be his Prime Minister, he wanted Bismark to unite all Germans under one power, and one crown. He had a parliament that wouldn’t pay their military and needed a way to get all Germans from the Saxons, Bavarians and Hessians to unite and become a stronger country. Bismark believed he was being led by God to bring all of Germany together. This to me sounds very Hitler-esque and very much like someone who is going to step on everyone in his path to get what he wants. He attacked Denmark and then Austria, even though the King of Prussia was against it. While I see where his thought process was, and why he attacked to unite his country, the King was very hesitant to have “Germans shooting at Germans”. After the wars, Bismark had what he wanted as far as national pride and Germans having a sense of country and dedication to the father land. This is where his effectiveness as a leader ends. The Prime Minister then decided to provoke France into a war. He wanted to make sure no one would try and intervene in German affairs and bring some of the smaller German states out of the nation as a whole. He then adds insult to injury by suggesting a

History has provided us with numerous examples of individuals who were incredibly leaders, but who also were adept at managing their followers and subordinates, with varying degrees of effectiveness and success. Typically, the ones remembered are the ones that were the most successful in this task. One example of such an individual is perhaps remembered as one of the most vile human beings to have ever walked this Earth, a partially-educated failed artist from Austria named Adolf Hitler.…

Leaders are everywhere in our world. They constantly surround us and tell us what to do. Leaders have shaped our history and are constantly shaping our future. Some excellent examples of good leaders are Adolf Hitler and Julius Caesar. We might not agree with some of the policies that Hitler performed, however, we can conclude that his excellent leadership skills allowed him to effectively govern about 69 million citizens. Caesar’s quick and decisive personality granted Caesar the title, Dictator, of the Roman Empire. Under Caesar’s rule, the Roman Empire vastly expanded its borders through military annexations. But, with all things foretold, what designates someone the power to lead people? There are several factors that bring about a good leader. The three main factors incorporate communication, confidence, and commitment. Anybody that decides to encompass these factors, will not only be a good leader, but they will also be an effective and a revolutionary leader.…

Others may say that an effective leader is someone who leads the country for the greater good. Some may even say striking fear into citizens is what distinguishes an effective leader from the rest. However, a true leader is able to establish direct communication with their followers. What distinguishes a successful leader from a futile leader is the capability to provide reassurance…

Adolf Hitler was the undisputed leader of the Nazi Party. Much of Hitler's success during his reach to higher power in Germany was due to his powerful and dominating personality. A master spokesman, Hitler was a charismatic speaker, that delivered his speeches passionately and dynamic that the crowds would be driven wild with enthusiasm of the ideas he preached. Hitler's plans made hazy promises while avoiding the real facts. Very often he was doing sp by using simple catch phrases, repeated over and over. Hitler's dominance and strict nature was a much-needed change for Germany after the ditches it has been through.…

One reason is all of the things he did to unite Germany and turn it into a world power. In 1862, Bismarck was appointed minister-president of Prussia. When awarded the title, he made his famous speech that said, “The great questions of the day will not be settled by speeches and majority decisions but by blood and iron.” Bismarck then knew that he wanted Prussian influence to be the leading power in northern and western Germany (“Otto von Bismark”).
