First and foremost, the first American Police force was established in Boston in the year 1838, and the third was, ironically, Chicago in 1845. Crime is a result of poverty, lack of education, gang activity, and access to drugs and guns. Who’s providing these guns and drugs? Why are high schools being closed and a lack of a push for higher education? Are black gangs the ONLY gang problem in America? Look anywhere in the world where you find poverty you will find crime. It’s not a black thing. Stop that. When institutionalized racism prevents people from enrolling into colleges, from entering the work force, and pursuing the American Dream, they become impoverished. It’s getting better, blacks are getting more educated, they are working hard, but let’s not pretend that there wasn’t hundreds of years delaying this. Change requires time and patience.
