Our topic is on police brutality. This has been an ongoing problem in our society for many years now. Many people believe that police officers do use excessive force when patrolling on the streets with civilians. The main social problem for our topic relates to the use of excessive force. Excessive force can cost local communities millions of dollars due to legal damages. Most civilians now do believe that all police officers are bad due to all of the drama that has been occurring throughout these last few years. Police Brutality normally includes misconduct in the workplace, racial profiling, police corruption, and false arrest. With all the new technology these days we definitely think that the police lose. They are trying to do their job by serving and protecting the community. In the course of the officers doing their jobs and protecting us they encounter some people that do not listen to their commands and that leads the officers to use some force. While the officers use some extra force they get recorded and the recordings go viral and then ultimately the police officers become the bad guys. But if you notice closely to the videos they always start in the middle and not the beginning. The videos show that the officers are using force but they don’t show what were the reasons that lead the officers to use the force. The videos don’t show what the criminals did before to instigate the officers to use that force. All these recent acts of police brutality have raised many concerns about police
Now a days brutality caused by the police is a difficult topic to discuss upon. Police brutality has had many effects on society. The taxpayers have to pay for the brutality that is caused by the police. All the victims of police brutality have to be compensated for the harm caused to them. The police departments don’t really have the money to pay back the victims, so when they lose a lawsuit filed against them the only people left to pay back are the taxpayers of their area. The police can use many different techniques to avoid these lawsuits against them.
