Black Holes: A Narrative Fiction
“Ever since mother passed, they have been treating me horribly!” He complained to the horse whom he is feeding, then turns to his beloved bloodhound, Bruni, and she barks cheerfully at him. He thought back to how everything happened before. He lived with his mother, Jenny, Stepfather, Christopher, and bossy stepbrothers, Adam and Dustin. Asher’s mother came down with an illness not long after she married Christopher. Asher would take care of her every night, tending to her ever need. Shortly, Jenny passed away and Asher was left to his stepfamily. Asher hears yells of excitement from inside and snaps to reality, walking towards the house. He walks inside and into the kitchen. He hears them in the dining room, “The ball! The Princess is to find …show more content…
Asher winces and goes off to find the cat who despises him, and anyone but Christopher. He eventually finds her, under Adams bed. He goes to grab her and his hand is bitten. He holds in a scream and holds his hand, checking it and sees a little bit of blood but not much. He sighs and tries again, this time successfully grabbing Lucy and walks into the bathroom across the hall, checks the time “its only three o’five,” he says to himself quietly, then dumps Lucy on the floor and quickly slams the door. Asher slowly starts to run the water until it is full enough, and Lucy looks over the edge of the tub, curious. Asher takes the chance and pushes her forwards, holding her into the water until about twenty minutes pass and she calms down a little, though still growling. Asher sighs and starts to slowly scrub her until she is clean, getting a bite from Lucy now and then. When he is finished, he wraps her in a towel and takes her into his stepfather’s room, putting her in her pet castle. He looks at the time and notices that it is already four. Asher runs up the stairs that lead up to his room and see that there are an arrangement of fabrics on his …show more content…
Asher looks at him, “Are you my fairy godfather?” The man gives him a kind smile, “Can you please help me? I would like to go to the ball but…” he looks at his torn clothes, “I don’t have anything to wear.” The fairy godfather smiles and lifts the wand. A cloud of blue dust surrounds him and when it is gone, Asher is dressed in a baby blue suit with a white sash and white shoes. Asher hugs his fairy godfather and he returns the hug. The fairy father then makes a pumpkin into a magnificent carriage and four white mice into beautiful stallions. Asher looks at them and his face lights up with joy. He looks at Bruni and she barks repeatedly at him before the fairy godfather turns her into a stagecoach. “At the stroke of midnight the magic will wear off and I hope that you are home,” The fairy godfather says. Asher smiles and nods, jumping into the carriage. By the time they arrive it is nine o’clock. Asher runs into the palace just in time to see a young woman with black hair pulled into a bun and a cream colored dress with a red belt start to walk down the stairs. Everyone turns and looks at her, clapping. Asher just stares at her and she walks over to him, “Would
